Look 09
Details: Laina Rauma dress, Sheertex tights, black pumps that I bought 6 years ago.
Me again! Back with neons again this week.
Colors that we see popularized in collections are largely based on what is happening in the world. Right now, wtih COVID taking over a large portion of space within everyones minds, bold colors are not yet able to represent our world accurately. During 2021 fashion weeks, we saw colors of peace, calm and hope flood the stages. Even though neon green wasn’t there, I’m bringing it into this weeks post because I think bold colors like this will remerge once we regain our balance of peace, calm and hope. This is my colorful representation of the aftermath of COVID.
The first neon look in green is summary, think beach coverup, or beach party. The set is made by Laina Rauma, a Canadian designer, making everything beautifully in LA. This shade of green and skimp of this set is just how unapologetically she makes clothes. The set can be styled both as a sexy date night look or as a casual beach ware.
My hair is styled in a bun, mostly because I didn’t want to wash it. HOWEVER, hair up with some strong hoops elevated this style to chic. The earrings are by Lace by Tanaya. You can find both staple everyday earrings here and the special occasion wear. These hoops, these are my everyday hoops. I mean, gold goes with everything right?
The second look I wanted to dress up a little more, for anyone who maybe doesn’t want to show as much skin, or prefers a more covered aesthetic. The top I am wearing can be worn in a cardigan style or tied around your waist like a dress (seen in the picture). I thought black tights and a simple black stiletto would sharpen this look. If you haven’t heard of Sheertex, that’s the only place for you to buy tights from here on out. Plus they’re Canadian! The tights NEVER rip. Ever. You’re welcome. Black pumps/dressy black shoes are a staple in everyone’s closet. If you don’t like heels, go with a sleek loafer or dress shoe. You could even go with a crisp black sneaker with this look as well.
Although I initially said date night, this could be with your partner, your best friend, or your work party. I don’t set the limits, you do. So dare to be bold with colors and styles like these. It’s encouraged.
