Look 10
Details: Matte Brand set, Lace by Tanaya belly chain and Makris boots.
On the list to discuss is brown and beige tones, why you need them in your closet and dressing them within and without their color palette. I wanted to start strong with a brown look that could be really dressed up.
The unique thing about this set is it’s print is super modern (a played down snake print) and the cut is a little old school. This set is from a brand called Matte Brand. I had followed this brand on instagram and twitter for about 5 years before I finally bought a pair of sweatpants at the beginning of last March (COVID times anyone?). But I bought this set because I love that the brown color is so casual but the cur and print of the garment is so chic. Where I live, lots of people would turn their heads wondering how I made it out in a such an outfit. But this is a no-basics zone. Don’t be afraid of buying unique pieces or unique sets. The great thing about it, this set is super cute together. But if I wanted to wear either garment alone, it would still make an amazing outfit.
Now let’s get to the good stuff… Why brown is a great color to have in your wardrobe. It goes with almost everything, and is a great warm to add a warmer tone to an outfit without having to wear a bold color.
I bought these pieces in size Small, which is my usual size. I wear consistently between a 2-4. It fits tight, but that’s how it’s supposed to look. Fits true to size and this company has amazing customer service.
The brands CEO and designer is someone I look up to so much. Briana started Matte Brand because she wanted to. That’s it. Nothing else. She wanted to, she enjoyed the creative outlet and made it happen for herself. She now is thriving in her business and able to explore all other avenues that interest her. She is unapologetic in how she runs her businesses and I think many small businesses should take notes of how she approaches connecting with her target clients.
Like I said, sets make great a great addition to any wardrobe. They make you look so put together. Plus, if they’re neutral you can wear with with almost everything!
Until next week.
